Iznenađenje i nove odgovornosti u riječima budućih kardinala

Iznenađenje i osjećaj nove odgovornosti. Ti osjećaji proizlaze iz prvih riječi novoimenovanih kardinala koje su izrazili nakon što su se našli na popisu onih koje će papa Franjo uvrstiti u Kardinalski zbor na sljedećem konzistoriju 28. studenog

 

Vrlo je veliko iznenađenje bilo za mons. Enrica Ferocija, župnika crkve Božanske ljubavi, kada je saznao za kardinalsko imenovanje, dok je bio u sakristiji pripremajući se za slavlje svete mise. Protumačio sam to kao Papinu gestu koju nije učinio meni osobno, nego svim svećenicima u Rimu – rekao je za našu radijsku postaju te dodao – Uvijek se kaže da je svećenik onaj koji daje biskupu ruke kako bi dotaknuo Kristovo Tijelo koje je Božji narod. Eto, papa Franjo je želio zahvaliti za ruke brojnih svećenika. Vjerujem da je to tako, ja to tako tumačim, jer ne mislim da kao osoba zaslužujem to priznanje. Biti i dalje ono što je bio do sada, uvijek služeći Božjem narodu, želja je mons. Ferocija. 

Među 13 budućih kardinala čija je imena papa Franjo naveo u nedjelju u podnevnom nagovoru, nalazi se i nadbiskup Silvano Maria Tomasi, umirovljeni apostolski nuncij i stalni promatrač Svete Stolice pri Uredu Ujedinjenih naroda i specijaliziranim ustanovama u Ženevi, pri Svjetskoj trgovinskoj organizaciji i Međunarodnoj organizaciji za migracije. Nadbiskup Tomasi je izrazio iznenađenje, ali i radost pri pomisli da je to priznanje za zauzimanje, ne samo njegovo osobno, nego i zajednice koje je bio dio. Osim toga, budući je kardinal istaknuo da takva vijest nameće novu odgovornost u nastavku davanja prinosa za dobro Crkve.

To su Papine šale – bile su prve riječi koje je izgovorio fra Mauro Gambetti, nekoliko minuta nakon vijesti o njegovu imenovanju. Primam tu vijest sa zahvalnošću i radošću, u duhu poslušnosti Crkvi i služenju čovječanstvu, u ovo tako teško vrijeme za sve nas. Povjeravam svetom Franji svoj put i usvajam njegove riječi o bratstvu. Dar je to koji ću podijeliti sa svom djecom Božjom na putu ljubavi i samilosti prema bližnjem, našem bratu – rekao je fra Mauro.

Former spiritual adviser to Medjugorje visionaries excommunicated

ROME — A former priest who had been an early spiritual adviser to the alleged visionaries of Medjugorje, Bosnia-Herzegovina, has been excommunicated, according to an announcement by the Diocese of Brescia, Italy, where he lives.

“The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith formally communicated to the bishop of Brescia that on July 15, 2020, the congregation issued a declarative decree regarding Mr. Tomislav Vlasic. The decree declared that Mr. Vlasic incurred the penalty of excommunication,” said a statement published Oct. 23 by the Brescia diocesan press office.

In 2009, Pope Benedict XVI had laicized Vlasic, formerly a Franciscan priest who had served as a spiritual adviser to the Marian visionaries in Medjugorje, Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Benedict, in a document issued “motu proprio” (on his own initiative), returned Vlasic to the lay state and dispensed him from his religious vows as a member of the Order of Friars Minor.

 

At the time, Vlasic was confined to a Franciscan monastery in L’Aquila, Italy, after he refused to cooperate in a Vatican investigation of his activities for suspected heresy and schism. Vlasic had left Medjugorje in the mid-1980s to establish the Queen of Peace community in Parma, Italy, for both men and women after it was publicly revealed that he had fathered a child with a Franciscan nun and then tried to cover up their affair.

Vlasic also was warned at the time that if he continued to present himself as a priest or if he released “declarations on religious matters, especially regarding the phenomenon of Medjugorje,” he would face further penalties, including possible excommunication.

And still, the Diocese of Brescia said in October, “throughout these years, in the Diocese of Brescia and in other places, he continued to carry out the activity of an apostolate with individuals and groups, both at conferences and through the media; he continued to call himself a religious and priest of the Catholic Church, simulating the celebration of sacraments, which were not valid; he continued to cause serious scandal among the faithful, committing acts gravely detrimental to ecclesial communion and to obedience to church authorities.”

 

The decree of excommunication, it said, means “Mr. Vlasic is forbidden from taking part in any way as a minister of the celebration of the Eucharist or any other ceremony of public worship, of celebrating sacraments or sacramentals, of receiving the sacraments or exercising any kind of church office, ministry or function.”

The diocese asked pastors to expel Vlasic from any “act of public worship” and to interrupt any church functions where he is present and refuses to leave.

March 26, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) -- Two herbal treatments for the Wuhan virus developed by Archbishop Samuel Kleda of Douala, Cameroon, and approved for use by a government scientific committee have recently been offered on the export market after having been given to some 10,000 people locally with good results since the appearance of the coronavirus through January 2021, according to its producers.

A statement published March 17 by Dr. Marius Macaire Biloa, national coordinator of the Catholic Health Association of Cameroon (OCASC), announced that the treatments Elixir Covid and Adsak Covid are now available for the foreign market, priced at 20,000 CFA francs, some 30 euro or 36 US dollars, and would be exclusively available at the Bishops’ Conference of Cameroon and at the health coordination of the Archdiocese of Douala.

The medicines have been provided totally free of charge within Cameroon and will remain free for anyone who needs them in diocesan centers all over the country.

They are currently being offered to patients after consultation and lab tests to confirm SARS-CoV-2 positivity, mainly in a dozen Catholic health centers in Cameroon’s largest cities, Douala and Yaoundé, where most coronavirus cases have been registered.

When the crisis broke out worldwide last spring, all eyes turned to Africa, and many epidemiologists warned that chaos and horrific death tolls were on the horizon because of the continent’s large population concentrations, and lack of hygiene and medical care. However, Africa, especially sub-Saharan Africa, was largely spared, with few registered contaminations and a lower death toll than in the developed countries of the West.

 

 

 

This did not prevent severe anti-coronavisus measures in many African countries, but the Africans did not go so far as to ban possible treatments. And it is now the continent that had the least to suffer from the pandemic.

Of course, Africa has a much younger population than the other continents and is therefore less exposed to the worst consequences of contagion by SARS-CoV-2, which mostly kills elderly or gravely ill people. But contagion itself has also been kept to a much lower level. More or less left to themselves, many African countries have chosen to confront the danger in their own way, which includes trying old, proven medicines such as hydroxychloroquine and plants such as artemisia, which was promoted in the island of Madagascar (369 deaths since the beginning of the crisis from a total population of 26.26 million).

Kleda, who was made Archbishop of Douala, Cameroon’s economic capital, in 2009 by Pope Benedict XVI, has long been known for his passion for naturopathy and herbal medicines. He first started looking for natural remedies as rector of the Little Seminary of Saint-Paul-de-Guider, in north Cameroon, 30 years ago, because “ordinary” drugs were not available to treat children.

 

The archbishop does not want the use of substances inspired by traditional medicine to be confused with sorcery and magic. “We treat thanks to plants and with the intercession of the Virgin Mary,” he has been known to say. Since 2009, he opened a herbal store where he received the public and gave advice in his spare time.

When the coronavirus entered Cameroon, Archbishop Kleda pleaded for a very strict confinement – but also started searching for a possible plant combination.

“I already knew the plants used for the symptoms of the coronavirus. I simply set up all the recipes that I had at my disposal,” he said in April. At the time, he said he had already treated several hundred people. “There was not one death. All those who took the medicine were healed,” he claimed.

While Archbishop Kleda has not published the formula of his treatment, he did tell the population that eating onions and garlic will rapidly reinforce the immune system of people who have been weakened by the Wuhan virus.

The College of Physicians at the time warned against many of the herbal recipes that were already circulating in Cameroon, saying they needed to be assessed for possible serious side effects. “Those who are skeptic should remain within their skepticism, that is their right; we are getting in with our job,” responded Kleda.

 

By the end of April 2020, he claimed publicly that he had found a natural treatment that could reduce the symptoms of the disease linked to the Wuhan coronavirus.

Immediately, dispensaries were set up and run by the Archdiocese of Douala, attracting thousands of people who got free treatment, while the Archbishop received local private funding to continue his research. By May 7, many restrictions were lifted, bars that had been subject to early closing times were opened again in the evening, and doomsayers said contaminations would skyrocket. It didn’t happen. With a population of 25 million, Cameroon had only 601 deaths attributed to the coronavirus to date.

Archbishop Kleda’s remedy attracted more and more locals, to the point that even people who needed hospital care because of the Wuhan virus arranged for it to be brought to them.

At first, a member of the political opposition celebrated Kleda’s invention, saying the remedy “should be a source of national pride.” The former head of the Cameroon barristers’ association, Yondo Black, and a number of businessmen raised money to buy medical equipment and production units for the archbishop’s new treatment. The owner of a large media group in the country also supported Kleda. Even Cameroon’s health minister, Dr. Malachie Manaouda, stepped in at the end of April in order to get a closer look at Kleda’s miracle remedy.

On May 19, the president of Cameroon encouraged “all efforts to develop a local treatment against COVID-19.”

By June, the archbishop was invited by Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute to join the official group of health specialists for an audition by the Cameroon Parliament. Ngute himself had already met with Kleda.

At the time, the president of the National Assembly, Cavaye Yeguié Djibril, urged all to set aside prejudice and division regarding traditional medicines, invoking the “national interest” and the necessity to update the problem. Kleda added that phytotherapy should be studied in universities so that doctors and technicians can use them correctly.

Manaouda now wholeheartedly stands behind the archbishop’s healing remedy. He stated earlier this week that the contribution of traditional medicine has mitigated the number of people who fell ill with coronavirus and helped to bring down the percentage of victims of a grave form of the illness. The Cameroon Press Agency noted last Wednesday that “by now, no one can ignore the benefits of the anti-COVID protocol set up by the metropolitan archbishop of Douala, Bishop Samuel Kleda, which has proved its worth.”

Didier Raoult, France’s charismatic infectiologist from Marseille who promoted the use of hydroxychloroquine from the start before recommending the addition of Zithromax and zinc, has repeatedly praised Africa’s pragmatic approach to the epidemic, stressing that Africans not only are prepared to use cheap drugs in new ways – something that goes directly against the interest of the pharmaceutical industry that thrives on new patents – but that they are also way ahead in science about the coronavirus with highly trained specialists and first-rate hospitals.

And contrary to many developed countries, African nations have actually been treating their coronavirus patients.

By March 23, according to statistics released by the African Center for Disease Control and Prevention, a total of 4,123,632 “cases” of COVID-19 were registered on the continent, and 110,164 people died. Africa has a population of 1.216 billion.

They have been produced in an unethical way by people who obviously have no conscience. They are also propagated and imposed by such in many places. The truth is suppressed everywhere. That is why there is no more freedom. But the truth will prevail.

The decision whether or not to accept this vaccination is a judgment of prudence on the one hand (there are strong medical reasons against it) and an ethical question on the other hand: The vaccines are connected to cell lines from aborted children who had to be alive in order to yield valuable cells. The vaccines have been produced or tested with such. How can you force such an industry to develop its products in an ethical way? Answer: By not buying and using them!

Answers given by church leaders in interviews are not part of the infallible magisterium of the Church.

The personal conscience must form itself according to the teaching of the Church, but it cannot be bypassed and it will have to decide, in the end, alone before God. That is why Cardinal Newman has subordinated the papacy to the conscience.

Church documents have their strengths and weaknesses. They are very helpful to arrive at one’s own judgment of conscience. But one must also see their weaknesses — especially in recent times — and judge accordingly.

The narrative of this pandemic is not in the truth. Therefore, it should not be believed. There was never any excess mortality and overloading of the intensive care units. Intensive care beds were even significantly reduced in the same period. The lockdown measures have done more harm than good and have hardly influenced the viral events. But they have destroyed many livelihoods, burned billions of taxpayers’ money in an irresponsible way, and led to a fatal division of society right down to the families. Who can take the responsibility for this? The vaccination of the larger population (especially young people and children) which defeats this disease with normal flu symptoms with their own natural immune system is irresponsible.

There are medically proven treatments for SARS-CoV-2, including Ivermectin. They are harmless and effective.

The Pope and bishops have also allowed themselves to be deceived, in my opinion. They have become health experts instead of witnesses to the faith. They have accepted that the faithful are deprived of the sacraments or can receive them only with great difficulty. This is a historical failure and will also turn out to be one.

The state has massively violated the rights of citizens, and the Church has not stood up against it. It was fixated more on the health of the faithful than on their salvation, an unprecedented event in the history of the Church. The empty St. Peter’s Square with the lonely Pope demonstrated it.

Let us pray that the plans of the powerful will be put to shame and that Christ, the Lord, our only hope, will triumph!

Transsexual women are presenting themselves as men to infiltrate Catholic seminaries, a US bishop has said.

Bishops should now order physical examinations or DNA tests for candidates for the priesthood, Archbishop Jerome Listecki of Milwaukee advised members of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops in a memo.

He said that on more than one occasion women who have undergone sex changes have applied to the priesthood and have been accepted into seminary.

“Recently, the Committee on Canonical Affairs and Church Governance was made aware of instances where it had been discovered that a woman living under a transgendered identity had been unknowingly admitted to the seminary or to a house of formation of an institute of consecrated life,” said Archbishop Listecki in his memo.

In one case “the individual’s sacramental records had been fraudulently obtained to reflect her new identity”, said Archbishop Listecki, the chairman of the USCCB’s canonical affairs committee.

He said: “In all instances, nothing in these individuals’ medical or psychological reports had signaled past treatments or pertinent surgeries.”

“Luckily, each case was discovered prior to a celebration of Holy Orders,” continued the archbishop.

He added that he was “encouraged by the committee to alert you to these occurrences so that you will exercise special vigilance as a new year of seminary formation begins”.

The memo was silent on precisely which seminaries had been infiltrated or where they were located.

Archbishop Listecki, a doctor of canon law, reminded his brother bishops that only men “who possess the requisite physical and psychological qualities” may be admitted for training to the priesthood.

He went on to quote the sections of the Code of Canon Law that require bishops to establish moral certitude that such criteria are met.

“Some members of the Committee on Canonical Affairs and Church Governance observed that a bishop could consider requiring a DNA test or, at a minimum, certification from a medical expert of the bishop’s own choosing, to assure that an applicant is male,” the archbishop said.

Hellwache Beobachter wie der große Theologe Romano Guar­dini (1885-1968) erkannten schon in der Mittel des 20. Jahr­hunderts die sich abzeichnenden Folgen der totalen Verweltlichung des Lebens und deren schwerwiegende Auswirkungen auf das Glaubensleben.

Die Wahrheit der christlichen Offenbarung wird immer tiefer in Frage gestellt; ihre Gültigkeit für die Formung und Führung des Lebens immer entschiedener bestritten. Zur Kirche vollends tritt die kulturelle Gesinnung in immer schärferen Gegensatz. Der neue Anspruch, die verschiedenen Bereiche des Lebens und Schaffens: Politik, Wirtschaft, Sozialordnung, Wissenschaft, Kunst, Philosophie, Erziehung usw. müssten rein aus ihren immanenten Maßstäben heraus entfaltet werden, erscheint als immer selbstverständlicher.

 

So bildet sich eine nichtchristliche, vielfach widerchristliche Lebensform heraus. Sie setzt sich so konsequent durch, dass sie als das Normale einfachhin erscheint, und die Forderung, das Leben müsse von der Offenbarung her bestimmt werden, den Charakter kirchlichen Übergriffs bekommt.

Selbst der Gläubige nimmt diesen Zustand weithin an, indem er denkt, die religiösen Dinge seien eine Sache für sich, und die weltlichen ebenfalls; jeder Bereich solle sich aus dem eigenen Wesen heraus gestalten, und es müsse dem Einzelnen überlassen bleiben, wie weit er in beiden zu leben wünsche.

Die Folge ist, dass auf der einen Seite ein von direkten christlichen Einflüssen abgelöstes autonomes Weltdasein entsteht; auf der anderen Seite eine Christlichkeit, die in einer eigentümlichen Weise diese „Autonomie“ nachahmt. Wie sich eine rein wissenschaftliche Wissenschaft, eine rein wirtschaftliche Wirtschaft, eine rein politische Politik herausbildet, so auch eine rein religiöse Religiosität.

Diese verliert immer mehr die unmittelbare Beziehung zum konkreten Leben, wird immer ärmer an Weltgehalt, beschränkt sich immer aus­schließlicher auf „rein religiöse“ Lehre und Praxis und hat für viele nur noch die Bedeutung, zu gewissen Kulminationspunkten des Daseins, wie Geburt, Eheschließung und Tod, eine religiöse Weihe zu geben.

In der Regel ist es dieser Sachverhalt, an den man denkt, wenn von der religiösen Situation der Neuzeit gesprochen wird. Aber auch etwas anderes trifft zu, nämlich die Abnahme jener unmittelbar religiösen Empfänglichkeit, von welcher die Rede war. Der neuzeitliche Mensch verliert weithin nicht nur den Glauben an die christliche Offenbarung, sondern erfährt auch eine Schwächung seines natürlichen religiösen Organs, so dass er die Welt immer mehr als profane Wirklichkeit sieht.
