Marlon Brando Jr. (April 3, 1924 – July 1, 2004) was an American actor and film director. Regarded for his cultural influence on 20th century film,^[4] Brando's Academy Award-winning performances include that of Terry Malloy in On the Waterfront (1954) and Don Vito Corleone in The Godfather (1972). Brando was an activist for many causes, notably the civil rights movement and various Native American movements. He is credited with helping to popularize the Stanislavski system of acting having studied with Stella Adler in the 1940s.

He initially gained acclaim and an Academy Award nomination for reprising the role of Stanley Kowalski in the 1951 film adaptation of Tennessee Williams' play A Streetcar Named Desire, a role that he originated successfully on Broadway.^[5] He received further praise for his performance as Terry Malloy in On the Waterfront, and his portrayal of the rebellious motorcycle gang leader Johnny Strabler in The Wild One proved to be a lasting image in popular culture.^[6] Brando received Academy Award nominations for playing Emiliano Zapata in Viva Zapata!; Mark Antony in Joseph L. Mankiewicz's 1953 film adaptation of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar; and Air Force Major Lloyd Gruver in Sayonara (1957), an adaption of James Michener's 1954 novel. Brando was included in a list of Top Ten Money Making Stars three times in the 1950s, coming in at number 10 in 1954, number 6 in 1955, and number 4 in 1958.

The 1960s saw Brando's career take a downturn. He directed and starred in the cult western film One-Eyed Jacks, a critical and commercial flop, after which he delivered a series of box-office failures, beginning with the 1962 film adaptation of the novel Mutiny on the Bounty. After 10 years, during which he did not appear in a successful film, he won his second Academy Award for playing Vito Corleone in Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather, a role critics consider among his greatest. The Godfather was then one of the most commercially successful films of all time. With that and his Oscar-nominated performance in Last Tango in Paris, Brando re-established himself in the ranks of top box-office stars, placing sixth and tenth in the Money Making Stars poll in 1972 and 1973, respectively. Brando took a four-year hiatus before appearing in The Missouri Breaks(1976). After this, he was content with being a highly paid character actor in cameo roles, such as in Superman (1978) and The Formula (1980), before taking a nine-year break from motion pictures. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Brando was paid a record $3.7 million ($15 million in inflation-adjusted dollars) and 11.75% of the gross profits for 13 days' work on Superman. He finished out the 1970s with his controversial performance as Colonel Kurtz in another Coppola film, Apocalypse Now, a box-office hit for which he was highly paid and which helped finance his career layoff during the 1980s.

Brando was ranked by the American Film Institute as the fourth-greatest movie star among male movie stars whose screen debuts occurred in or before 1950. He was one of six professional actors, along with Charlie Chaplin, Ronald Reagan, Lucille Ball, Frank Sinatra, and Marilyn Monroe, named in 1999 by Time magazine as one of its 100 Most Important People of the Century.^[7]

Charlton Heston (born John Charles Carter;^[1] October 4, 1923 – April 5, 2008)^[1][2] was an American actor and political activist.^[3]

As a Hollywood star, he appeared in almost 100 films over the course of 60 years. He played Moses in the epic film The Ten Commandments (1956), for which he received his first nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama.^[4] He also starred in Touch of Evil (1958) with Orson Welles, Ben-Hur (1959), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor, El Cid (1961), Planet of the Apes (1968), The Greatest Show on Earth (1952), Secret of the Incas (1954), The Big Country (1958) and The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965).^[5]

A supporter of Democratic politicians and civil rights in the 1960s, Heston later became a Republican, founding a conservative political action committee and supporting Ronald Reagan. Heston was the five-term president of the National Rifle Association (NRA), from 1998 to 2003. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2002, he retired from both acting and the NRA presidency.^[6]

Roy Richard Scheider (November 10, 1932 – February 10, 2008) was an American actor and amateur boxer.

Scheider gained fame for his leading and supporting roles in several iconic films from the 1970s, playing NYPD Detective Buddy "Cloudy" Russo in The French Connection (1971); NYPD Detective Buddy Manucci in The Seven Ups (1973); Police Chief Martin Brody in Jaws (1975) and Jaws 2 (1978); Doc in Marathon Man (1976); choreographer and film director Joe Gideon (whose character was based on Bob Fosse) in All That Jazz(which was written and directed by Fosse) (1979); and Dr. Heywood R. Floyd in the 1984 film 2010, the sequel to 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Scheider is also known for playing Captain Nathan Bridger in the science fiction television series seaQuest DSV (1993–1996). Described by AllMovie as "one of the most unique and distinguished of all Hollywood actors",^[2] Scheider was nominated for two Academy Awards, a Golden Globe Award and a BAFTA Award.^[3]

Предраг Ејдус (Београд, 24. јул 1947 — Београд, 28. септембар 2018) био је српски глумац и професор глуме.

Родио се 24. јула 1947. године у Београду, од оца Јеврејина и мајке Српкиње.^[1] Завршио је 14. београдску гимназију, а дипломирао глуму 1972. године на Академији за позориште, филм и телевизију, у класи професора Миленка Маричића. Био члан аматерског позоришта Дадов од 1962. до 1968, a члан Драме Народног позоришта у Београду постао је одмах након дипломирања 1972, и ту је остао до 1993, када је са Светланом Бојковић и Предрагом - Микијем Манојловићем отишао из Народног позоришта, у знак протеста због доласка Александра Берчека на место управника позоришта. Пре тога био је в. д. директора Драме Народног позоришта. У Југословенско драмско позориште прешао 1993, a од 2001. је ванредни професор глуме на Академији уметности „Браћа Карић". Изабран је 2006. у звање редовног професора на предмету Глума.^[2]

Био је и председник Удружења драмских уметника Србије од 1985. до 1989.

У позориштима широм некадашње Југославије — у Београду, Новом Саду, Суботици, Загребу, у Немачкој, Француској, Канади, САД, Мађарској, Швајцарској — одиграо је 150 драмских улога. Снимио је више од 50 филмова, телевизијских драма и серија. У његове антологијске позоришне улоге убрајају се ликови: Осипа Мандељштама, Јоакима Вујића, кнеза Мишкина, Франца Кафке, Наполеона, Бориса Годунова, Исака Бабеља, Порфирија Петровича, Кир Јање, Лазе Дунђерског... Игра у представама Фауст 1 и 2, Кир Јањи, Глембајевима, Млетачком трговцу, Супермаркету, Скупу. Представа Кир Јања, у којој глуми насловну улогу, прославила је 2017. године 25 година извођења.^[3]

Преминуо је 28. септембра 2018. године у Београду.^[4]

Био је ожењен Милицом Ејдус, архитектом и сценографом. Имају кћер Вању (глумицу), и сина Филипа.

Милена Дравић (Београд, 5. октобар 1940 — Београд, 14. октобар 2018) била је једна од најпознатијих српских и југословенских глумица. Глумила је у преко cто филмских остварења. Популарност јој је донела сарадња са Љубишом Самарџићем.

Најпознатије улоге остварила је у филмовима Козара, Љубавни живот Будимира Трајковића, Рад на одређено време, Мој тата на одређено време, Секула се опет жени, Није лако са мушкарцима и Зона Замфирова. Позната је још и као учитељица из култне серије Приче из Непричаве, Вера из Полицајца са Петловог брда, затим као Вукосава Петровић и Споменка из ТВ–комедија Позориште у кући и Луд, збуњен, нормалан. Са својим трећим супругом и колегом Драганом Николићем је од 1972. до 1974. водила популарни шоу програм Образ уз образ. Милена је често играла самохране мајке, сељанке, жене из радничке класе, била је и пионир и ексцентрична јунакиња филмова Црног таласа, а великим делом на успеху у каријери дугује и романтичним комедијама у којима је глумила уз Љубишу Самарџића.

Дравићева је добитница Награде за најбољу споредну глумицу на Канском филмском фестивалу, специјалне награде Златна ружа на Филмском фестивалу у Венецији, најпрестижнијих српских награда Добричин прстен и „Жанка Стокић“ за целокупан допринос југословенској и српској кинематографији, награде „Јоаким Вујић”, награде Павле Вуисић на Филмским сусретима у Нишу, четири Златна ћурана на Данима комедије у Јагодини и чак рекордних десет Златних арена на Филмском фестивалу у Пули. Због тога је често сматрају највећом звездом у историји српске и југословенске кинематографије.^[2] Преминула је 14. октобра 2018, после дуге и тешке болести.^[3][4][5]

Марко Николић је рођен у Краљеву 20. октобра 1946. године. Глуму је дипломирао на Академији за позориште, филм, радио и телевизију у Београду. Био је члан Народног позоришта од 1970. године. Играо је у позоришту, филму и на телевизији. ^[2] Телевизијску славу је стекао главном улогом у ТВ серији „Бољи живот“ (1987, 1990), као и улогом Карађорђа, у неколико ТВ драма и у серији Вук Караџић. Добитник је бројних награда, међу којима и награде "Павле Вуисић" за изузетан допринос уметности глуме на домаћем филму. Указом Председника Републике одликован је Златном медаљом за заслуге у културним делатностима.^[3]

Coy Luther "Luke" Perry III (October 11, 1966 – March 4, 2019)^[1] was an American actor. He became a teen idol for playing Dylan McKay on the TV series Beverly Hills, 90210 from 1990 to 1995, and again from 1998 to 2000. He also starred as Fred Andrews on the CW series Riverdale, and had guest roles on notable shows such as Criminal Minds, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Will & Grace.

He said of his role on Beverly Hills, 90210 as Dylan McKay: "I'm going to be linked with him until I die, but that's actually just fine. I created Dylan McKay. He's mine." However, he did not reprise his role on the spin-off. He stated: "When you're in the professional acting business, you have to look into all these offers, and I don't mean anything bad about it but creatively it's something I have done before and I don't know how it will benefit me if I do it again."

Perry was married to Rachel Minnie Sharp from 1993 to 2003.^[10][11] The couple had two children, Jack (born June 15, 1997) and Sophie (born June 7, 2000). His son, Jack, is a professional wrestler known by his ring name "Jungle Boy" Nate Coy, who is signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW).^[12][13][14] At the time of his death, he was engaged to Wendy Madison Bauer.^[15]

Perry became an advocate for testing for colon cancer after undergoing a colonoscopy in 2015 that revealed precancerous growths.^[16]

Perry had a massive stroke at his home in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, on February 27, 2019. He died from complications of the stroke on March 4.^[17]

Peter William Mayhew (19 May 1944 – 30 April 2019) was an English-American actor, best known for portraying Chewbacca in the Star Wars film series. He played the character in all of his live action appearances from the 1977 original to 2015's The Force Awakens before his retirement from the role.

Star Wars

When casting his first Star Wars film, creator George Lucas needed a tall actor who could fit the role of the hairy alien Chewbacca. He originally had in mind 6-foot-6-inch (1.98 m) bodybuilder David Prowse, but Prowse chose to play Darth Vader. This led Lucas on a search in which he discovered Mayhew, who was working as an orderly in the radiology department of King's College Hospital, London,^[8] and said that all he had to do to be cast in the role of Chewbacca was stand up.^[9][10]

Mayhew has played Chewbacca in five Star Wars films: the original trilogy (Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi), Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.^[11] He played the role in the 1978 television film Star Wars Holiday Special and in a 1980 appearance on The Muppet Show. He also recorded dialogue for the Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 3 finale episode "Wookiee Hunt".^[12][13]

Mayhew played the role in commercials and hospital appearances for sick children, and made numerous appearances as Chewbacca outside the Star Wars films. Mayhew, appearing as Chewbacca, was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the MTV Film Awards 1997.^[14] He was additionally honoured at the release of the new PlayStation Portable where he dressed as Chewbacca and held up the new PSP slim version.^[15]

He also made other media appearances outside of playing Chewbacca. He appeared on NBC's Identity, where his identity was based on the fact that he played Chewbacca and was a frequent guest in the early days of Slice of SciFi.^[16]

While Mayhew portrayed Chewbacca in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, he was not in Star Wars: The Last Jedi but was listed in the credits as "Chewbacca Consultant".^[17] Mayhew retired from playing Chewbacca due to health issues. Joonas Suotamo shared the portrayal of Chewbacca with Mayhew in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and then replaced him in subsequent Star Wars films.^[18][19]
