R. L. Wysong

Dr. R.L. Wysong is a veterinarian and has taught as a professor of human anatomy and is the author of The Creation-Evolution Controversy which has been credited with being the least rancorous creationist book in tone written from a creationist perspective and it is fairly comprehensive in scope. [1] Wysong was a former evolutionist and this is likely a reason why the book is less rancorous in tone than many.

Wysong's book, The Creation-Evolution Controversy has been used in a secular university setting as a textbook to teach about the creation/evolution subject due to its comprehensiveness and scholarly tone. Currently the book is available through Dr. Wysong's company. [2]

Kevin Anderson

Kevin L. Anderson earned his Ph.D. from Kansas State University in microbiology. Later he then went on the the University of Illinois to start his studies as a National Institutes of Health postdoctoral fellow, and later he became a professor of microbiology at Mississippi State University. At MSU he taught graduate level molecular genetics courses and also was the major professor for many doctoral and masters sudents. He then served as a research microbiologist for the United States Department of Agriculture prior to accepting his present position as Director of the Van Andel Creation Research Center[1], where his main area of research has been the molecular analysis of bacterial interactions and molecular genetics.[2] He has written more than 20 papers in scientific microbiology journals and has given presentations at many nationwide and worldwide scientific meetings. In addition to all this, He is presently the Editor-in-chief of the Creation Research Society Quarterly.[3]

Bolton Davidheiser

Bolton Davidheiser (died August 2007) was a creationist zoologist widely known for his book Evolution and Christian Faith (1969), in which he exposed many of the deficiencies and contradictions in the theory of evolution. He was a trained and once-convinced evolutionist whose doubts about evolution grew from painstaking research into its teachings. Although he attended church as a child, his conversion to Christ and to belief in creation occurred after he earned his doctorate.

Dr. Davidheiser graduated from Swarthmore College, where he earned his A.B. degree, and Johns Hopkins University, where he earned his Ph.D. in zoology with an emphasis on genetics. He served as Professor of Biology at Westmont College, Santa Barbara, California, and as Professor of Biology at Biola College at La Mirada, California.

In his personal testimony published in Evolution and Christian Faith, he said:

"One evening in the spring of 1944 in North Dakota I attended a church service. The pastor was not gifted, and everything he said I had heard many times before. He preached a simple gospel message of salvation by grace, and that evening I found myself saying, 'I believe that,' to everything he said. ... It was not just a mental assent—the acceptance of a point of view I had previously rejected—it was a transforming experience. The Bible calls it a second birth."

When he later worked in cancer research in Baltimore, he spent much spare time in the library reading articles on evolution. "I was surprised to find," he said, "that the things which I had taken as assured were not so sure after all." The more he read, the more amazed he became at the slender evidence behind the theory of evolution. He said he wrote Evolution and Christian Faith because "evolution had been the great stumblingblock in my life," so he felt a need to help others who had the same problem.

Percival Davis

Percival William Davis is an activist in the intelligent design movement and an American author. He received a master of arts in zoology from Columbia University, and a bachelor of arts in zoology from DePauw University. Davis also got 60 credit hours beyond the Master's degree at the University of South Florida and Columbia University, in zoology, ecology, and physiology. He was also a professor of Life Science at Hillsborough Community College in Florida starting in 1968.

The term "intelligent design" came into general usage after the publishing of his 1989 book called Of Pandas and People which was co-authored by Davis and Dean Kenyon. Dean Kenyon is currently working on a reedited version of Of Pandas and People, with coauthor Percival Davis, now being retitled as The Design of Life. They suggested that Darwinism, which is more than a century old, was no longer useful, mostly because evolution can't explain all the biological complexities, which they say shows great evidence of intelligent design.

The book, A Case for Creation was also co-authored by Percival Davis and Wayne Frair, which was published through Chicago's Moody Bible Institute in 1983. In a Wall Street Journal interview in 1994, Davis said about writing Of Pandas and People: "Of course my motives were religious. There's no question about it."

Carl Wieland

Dr. Carl Wieland was a former atheist and a medical doctor in Adelaide, South Australia, when he began the first creationist organisation in Australia in 1977, the Creation Science Association. In 1978 he began publishing Ex Nihilo (now Creation magazine). He is a former president of the Christian Medical Fellowship of South Australia and is currently the managing director of Creation Ministries International (CMI) in Australia.

In 1979/80, production of the Ex Nihilo magazine was handed over to the Queensland-based Creation Science Foundation (CSF), which was the result of Dr. Wieland's Creation Science Association "joining forces" with another organisation begun by Ken Ham and John Mackay. Carl Wieland continued writing and speaking part time, whilst still practising as a doctor in Adelaide.

In 1987 Carl Wieland became the acting head of CSF in Brisbane. Under his leadership, the ministry (subsequently named Answers in Genesis and now Creation Ministries International) expanded to New Zealand, the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and South Africa. In addition to his current role as Managing Director of CMI, he is a popular speaker and writer undertaking many speaking and writing duties.

Auto accident

In April 1986 in the Australian "outback", whilst moving house from Adelaide to Cairns, Carl Wieland was in a head-on accident with a fully laden fuel tanker at a combined speed of 180 km/h (110 mph). This resulted in the loss of one eye, and left him with one significantly shorter leg by the time the doctors put it back together. Over the following seven years he underwent 56 reconstructive operations, often with bone taken from his lower rib. It was during this time that he learnt that the rib is the only bone in the human body that will grow back once removed, as long as the covering membrane is left intact. He has used this fact in talks to point out that Adam didn't need to spend the rest of his life with a defect!

Tas Walker

Dr. Tasman Bruce Walker has a doctorate in mechanical engineering from the University of Queensland. Dr. Walker worked for over twenty years in the electric power station industry in Australia.

Past Geologic Research and Activities Include:

* Geological assessments of mining proposals, including the geological assessment of coal deposits.

* Investigation of the geochemistry of a layered igneous intrusion, focusing particularly on the behaviour of radioactive isotopes in the intrusion.

* Planning large hydro-electric development which required evaluation of geological conditions and their effect on dams, water reservoirs and underground power station structures.

In 1999, Tas became a full-time staff member of Answers in Genesis in Brisbane, now known as Creation Ministries International. His experience has helped him develop a geological model relating field structures with Biblical history. He has applied this model to the Great Artesian Basement in Australia, and along with other creation scientists is applying the model to the geology in other areas of the world.

Dr. Keith Swenson is the President of the Design Science Association in Portland Oregon.

He has a B.S. in Zoology and Pre-medical Studies from the University of Idaho and an M.D. from Washington University School of Medicine (St. Louis, MO). He completed residency training at Michael Reese Hospital (Chicago, IL), Oregon Health Sciences University, and Providence Medical Center (both in Portland, OR). Charles Thaxton

Charles B. Thaxton has a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Iowa State University. He completed two post-doctoral programs, one in history of science at Harvard University and the second in the molecular biology laboratories of Brandeis University.

He has lectured widely in American universities including University of Michigan, University of Delaware, Rice University, Princeton University, Yale University, Texas Universtiy, Vanderbilt University, Johns Hopkins University, and Harvard Law School. He has lectured outside the country at the Korean Advanced Institute of Science, the Russian Academy of Science, and in various universities in Poland, Mongolia, Romania, and Hungary.

He is co-author of The Mystery of Life's Origin and also The Soul of Science. He is the Academic Editor of the high school biology book, Of Pandas and People. He has contributed many chapters to the books God and Culture and The Creation Hypothesis and he is currently working on two books.

Laurence Tisdall

Laurence Tisdall holds a Bachelor's degree in General Agriculture from Macdonald College of McGill University and a Master of Science degree in micropropagation from the same university. He has published several scientific articles in peer reviewed journals, such as HortScience. Mr. Tisdall is presently a computer consultant.

His interest in creationism began in 1982 when in his last year of high school. His studies on the subject have since led him to several international conferences and to become the founder (in 1990) and president of the only bilingual creation science organization in the world: The Creation Science Association of Quebec / L'Association de Science Creationniste du Quebec (CSAQ/ASCQ).

Known since 1984 for his conferences on creationism, he has been invited to speak in more than 12 debates and has presented 800+ conferences to church congregations, many universities and CEGEPs as well as Christian and secular schools. Jonathan Sarfati

Dr Jonathan D. Sarfati graduated from Victoria University of Wellington with a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry with two physics papers substituted, and a Ph.D. in Chemistry, based on his thesis: A Spectroscopic Study of some Chalcogenide Ring and Cage Molecules. He has also had papers published in peer-reviewed scientific journals including co-authoring in the journal Nature on high-temperature superconductors in 1987, when he was 22 [1].

Ethnically Jewish, Sarfati converted to Christianity in 1984. In 1996 he moved to Brisbane, Australia to work for the Creation Science Foundation (now Creation Ministries International) as co-editor of their magazine, Creation, and the peer-reviewed Journal of Creation.

Writings

Sarfati has written numerous publications, including four books, with a fifth soon to be released. Refuting Evolution, his first book, was published in 1999, a rebuttal to the National Academy of Sciences' teachers' guidebook Teaching about Evolution and the Nature of Science. It has since sold more than 450,000 copies. This was followed by a sequel, Refuting Evolution 2, a response to a major PBS/Nova 7-part series and a Scientific American article.

His latest major book, Refuting Compromise is a rebuttal of the day-age creationism of Dr Hugh Ross, which treats the days of Genesis 1 as long ages, in an attempt to harmonize that account with the belief that the earth is billions of years old. "15 Reasons to Take Genesis as History" is a short book (co-authored with Don Batten) to summarize the theological case for taking Genesis at face value.

Sarfati has also authored a number of booklets, besides contributing chapters and articles to numerous books and magazines, as well as many of the articles on the Creation Ministries International and Answers in Genesis websites. He is a popular speaker at churches and conferences on the issue of creation versus evolution.

Chess

Sarfati also maintains a keen interest in chess. A former New Zealand national chess champion (1987/88),[2] he represented New Zealand in three Chess Olympiads. He also tied Rey Casse in the Australian Junior Championship (1981), but was declared ineligible because of his New Zealand residency (yet Casse was born in England). He was three times New Zealand junior champion. In a tournament in Wellington in 1988, he drew with former World Chess Champion Boris Spassky.

He enjoys playing chess "blindfold", i.e. played from memory without sight of or any physical contact with the board, and has been known to play twelve such games simultaneously (see some games and photos).

Dr. Ted Driggers attended the U.S. Naval Academy for the first part of his college studies. He then went to U.C. Berkeley and received his Ph.D. in Operations Research. He excelled at engineering parts of a communications satellite (like what they use in military satellites) also working on cell phone adaption. After spending many years working on these things he retired to Orcas Island in Washington state.

Being a creation scientist, Ted has a strong faith in the Lord. He actually retired because he felt the The Lord was calling him to creation evangelism. He really wanted to focus on schools and media. He has done many things involving the Lords leading such as speaking at many schools including secular schools. He also has participated in Video seminars with Ken Ham - another popular creationist.

Wayne Frair

Dr. Wayne Frair has a Ph.D. in Biochemical Taxonomy from the Rutgers University, New Jersey. He received his B.S. in zoology from Wheaton College, Illinois (1951), and an M.A. in embryology from the University of Massachusetts in 1955. Dr Frair is a Professor emeritus of biology at The King's College, Tuxedo, New York City.

Dr Frair was the president of the Creation Research Society from 1986 to 1993, and remained on the board until 2004. He has been an active research creation scientist for several decades, publishing numerous papers on biological science. Frair is perhaps principally responsible for the development of the creation science field of baraminology, which is the study and classification of the created kinds. His papers on creationist taxonomy span 25 years with the first being published in 1967. His 2000 paper title Baraminology—Classification of Created Organisms was instrumental in defining baramin terminology that is used widely today in creationist literature.

Along with Percival Davis, he co-authored the book A Case for Creation, and was one of 50 creation scientists to contribute a chapter to the book In Six Days.
