Carl Baugh

Carl Edward Baugh is the founder and Director of Creation Evidence Museum, Glen Rose, Texas. He has also made more that 70 guest appearances representing scientific creation on Trinity Broadcasting Network, and is the host of a weekly television program on TBN called - “Creation in the 21st Century.”

Dr. Baugh is Co-Director of a research team (along with Dr. Don Shockey) searching for Noah’s Ark on Mt. Ararat in Turkey. He personally negotiated a 49-year lease of Mt. Ararat with the Turkish government during the administration of President Uzal. He led three scientific expeditions into the rain forests of Papua New Guinea in search of living pterodactyls; along with missionary Jim Blume, he is recognized by current living-pterosaur investigators as a pioneer in this research. He was the excavation director of fourteen dinosaurs, including Acrocanthosaurus in Texas and Diplodocus in Colorado.

His independent research involves the application of technology he has pioneered in biospheric science. This independent research includes hyperbaric pharmaceutical potentials in living plants and animals, energized water systems, energized systems for enhanced production of plants as food sources, energized systems for enhanced production of fishes, energized systems for enhanced production of livestock, and energized water recovery systems. Dr. Baugh has been invited as a guest lecturer at NASA headquarters in Green Belt, Maryland as a result of his independent research on the world’s first hyperbaric biosphere.

Currently Carl Baugh oversees the Creation Evidence Museum's hyperbaric biosphere’s physical facility. This biosphere is a simulation of the original ecospheric conditions of Planet Earth. Preliminary results show extended life spans (and enhanced size) of fruit flies, enhanced growth in fish, and structural alteration of snake venom. In his pioneering role as independent researcher in this field, he is President and CEO of Creation Research Systems, Inc. More than thirty years of his life have been spent researching the atmospheric conditions before the Genesis Flood. From this research he has synthesized the Creation in Symphony Model.

Joseph Mastropaolo

Joseph A. Mastropaolo has a B.S., M.S., Ph.D. in kinesiology and a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in human physiology. As Aerospace Physiologist for Douglas Space Systems, he published two monographs on life in space, one for humans and one for experimental animals. He taught biomechanics and physiology at California State University, Long Beach for 26 years and was the physiologist for the Gossamer Condor and Albatross human powered flight projects which earned a medal in physiology from the Royal Aeronautical Society for the Kremer cross channel challenge.

Bryant Wood

Bryant G. Wood is an evangelical biblical archaeologist, and Creationist Director of the Associates for Biblical Research. He is known for his 1990 redating of the destruction of Jericho to accord with the biblical chronology of c. 1400 BC - the proposal was later (1995) shown to be unsustainable, and Kathleen Kenyon's dating of c. 1550 BC remains the accepted chronology for the site.

Biography

-Bryant Wood attended Syracuse University, graduating with a B.S. in mechanical engineering, later earning a M.S. in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy NY.

-He later pursued Biblical and archaeological studies and received an M.A. in Biblical History from the University of Michigan in 1974 and a Ph.D. in Syro-Palestinian archaeology from the University of Toronto in 1985.

-Dr. Wood is a specialist in Canaanite pottery of the Late Bronze Age. He is author of The Sociology of Pottery in Ancient Palestine: The Ceramic Industry and the Diffusion of Ceramic Style in the Bronze and Iron Ages (1990), as well as numerous articles on archaeological subjects. In addition, Dr. Wood serves as editor of the quarterly publication Bible and Spade.

-Dr. Wood received international attention for his proposed redating of ancient Jericho, arguing unsuccessfully for the historicity of the Biblical account of the capture of the city by the Israelites. He has also written on entry of the Philistines into Canaan, and on historicity of the Biblical story of Sodom and Gomorrah.

-Bryant G. Wood is currently Director of the Associates for Biblical Research. Dr. Wood received international attention for his research on ancient Jericho, which argued for the historicity of the Biblical account of the capture of the city by the Israelites. In addition, Dr. Wood has written on the subject of when the Philistines entered Canaan and has written on the subject of archaeology and the Biblical cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. -Bryant Wood, a research and teaching ministry headquartered in southeastern Pennsylvania, says the discipline emerged partly in response to liberal textual criticism.

-But Wood believes the assertion by Dever and other scholars that "fundamentalists" are simply using archaeology as a means to prove the Bible is an overstatement. ... "I've gone back and tried to find the reports or the articles that he's talking about where these pioneers and early archaeologists were trying to 'prove the Bible,' " Wood says. ... Wood and his associates have sponsored several small excavations in Israel in attempts to identify the site of Ai, the city the Bible says Joshua and the Israelites destroyed shortly after taking Jericho. ... In 1990 Wood wrote a BAR article titled "Did the Israelites Conquer Jericho? A New Look at the Archaeological Evidence." Wood says detailed analyses of Kenyon's excavation, and earlier digs at the site, contradict Kenyon's own conclusions, but no professional publication has published his research.

"I've been turned down by three different journals," Wood says. ... "They make fantastic and sensational claims, like finding chariot wheels in the Red Sea or finding the tablets of the Ten Commandments, or the Ark of the Covenant," says Wood, a member and former vice president of the evangelical Near East Archaeological Society.

Lane Lester

Dr. Lane P. Lester has a Ph.D in genetics and an M.S. in ecology from Purdue University. He is a course developer and adjunct biology professor (online) at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He is now primarily involved in publishing for the Web.

While with the Institute for Creation Research he gave lectures and debated in many of the United States, as well as in Canada and Australia. At Liberty University, he was the founding director of the Museum of Life History, the first major creation museum in the Eastern United States. He served the creation community for many years on the board of directors of the the Creation Research Society, and was for eight years the managing editor of the Creation Research Society Quarterly.

In his writing, Genetics: No Friend of Evolution Dr. Lester compares and contrasts the views and structure of theories between Charles Darwin and Gregor Mendel. He discusses that Darwin has made untested assumptions, while Mendel's theories are based on scientific experimentation.

Jason Lisle

Jason Lisle is an astrophysicist with a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado. Dr. Lisle did his undergraduate work at the Ohio Wesley University with a double major in physics and astronomy and a minor in mathematics. He has written several papers that have been published in both creation literature and secular magazines. He had grown up in a Christian home and he had trouble dealing with being taught about evolution in the government schools. While he was in graduate school he began to read creation materials he realized that if you looked at materials through different points of view then you would come up with two different things. He started to give lectures encouraging people to believe in the Bible and not in evolution. Dr. Jason Lisle continues to give lectures on why people should believe in the Bible today as a fulltime speaker and researcher for Answers in Genesis.

Melvin A. Cook

Melvin Alonzo Cook was a noted American chemist, born in Swan Creek, Utah on October 10, 1911 and died in 2000. He was most known from his work in the research and development of explosives, including the development of shaped charges and slurry explosives. He received a Master of Arts from the University of Utah (1934) and a Ph.D in Physical Chemistry from Yale University (1937), and among other industrial posts founded and served as President of IRECO Chemicals (later acquired by DynoNobel). He also served in higher education as a Professor of Metallurgy and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah. Cook was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Explosives

Melvin A. Cook's 50+ year career in both the theoretical and practical aspects of the field of explosives spans saw some remarkable achievements. In December of 1956 he created a new blasting agent using a mixture of ammonium nitrate, aluminum powder, and water: a most unusual mixture. This explosive, the first of the so-called "slurry explosives," was remarkably safe and paved the way for the development of the BLU-82, nicknamed the "Daisy Cutter" (because of its use in Viet-Nam to clear helicopter landing zones), one of the largest and most powerful conventional bombs in the U.S. military inventory, using aluminized slurry.

Awards and Recognitions

For his work in discovering slurry explosives, Cook received a Nitro Nobel Gold Medal in 1968, only the second time the award had been given (and which has been awarded only once since). This award has sometimes been 0202_238 with the Nobel Prize conferred by the Nobel Foundation, but although it is given by the successor explosives company founded by Alfred Nobel, Nitro-Nobel AB (now a part of DynoNobel), it is not of the same stature or importance as the Nobel Prize. Although it has been claimed that Cook was at one time a Nobel Prize nominee, he was never nominated.

Creationism

Dr. Cook was an ardent creationist, and his writings on the subject are frequently quoted or cited by creationists. Cook was a "young earth" creationist, and in some of his work in this area of creation theory he provided plausible-sounding arguments in favor of a 6,000 year-old planet. One argument for a "young earth," which he wrote about in his book, Science and Mormonism, attempted to show that the atmosphere had allegedly not yet reached an equilibrium state with respect to carbon-14 creation/decay, and postulated that the atmosphere of earth was in fact not older than 6,000 years.

Walter ReMine

Walter ReMine is the author of the book entitled The Biotic Message and is also known for advancing Haldane's dilemma which still hasn't been adequately resolved by evolutionists. He is a electrical engineer with a BSEE and MSEE degrees from the University of Minnesota in 1974 and 1977. He has studied in signal processing and pattern recognition along with a strong mathematical background which would later assist him in studying life's biological patterns and for recognizing their meaning. Walter's interests are in playing instruments such as the guitar and has a hobby in magic. His experience in magic has had dramatic impacts in dismantling illusions in the theory of evolution.

In ReMine's book, he argues that the evolutionary theory is unscientific because it's untestable, tautologous and unfalsifiable under evolutionist's own criterion for science. The Biotic Message has received some impressive reviews by notable people who have participated in the evolution vs creation controversy. The book then presents an alternative theory to evolution known as the message theory.

Ray Rempt

Dr. Ray Rempt studied physics and received a Ph.D. from UCLA in 1969. He was the first student there to receive the degree “with distinction”. He has performed original research in atomic and molecular physics, optics, fiber optic sensors, magnetic detection and other disciplines. Ray is currently a technical fellow in the Boeing Company’s Physics department, working with various advanced concepts and sensors.

Ray was significantly involved in the Jesus Movement of the 60’s and early 70’s, where he worked in Orange County at various schools, at colleges, universities, churches, and many para-church organizations. Ray is associated with Calvary Chapel. He became connected with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) at the Munich Olympics in 1972, and since then has been a regular speaker at YWAM schools and base meetings. Ray teaches in many parts of the world, in churches and universities, in camps, conferences, rallies, and other special functions.

Ray has recently written a book entitled “BIG BANG TO KINGDOM COME”, which deals with the types of questions that should be asked to address the whole creation/evolution issue. He frequently is asked to do apologetics, from scientific as well as philosophical and moral standpoints. He specializes in the spiritual dynamics underlying human behavior, and presses to understand root causes with a “first principles” approach. His grasp of scriptural principles is highly directed towards personal application, and the practical side of the Christian life.

Ray’s book on God dealing with the nations, entitled “A SEASON FOR ALL TIME”, came out in February of 2003. It has a broad appeal, and looks at developments on the international scene in the past 60 years. It includes the formation of the state of Israel, the cold war, the dissolution of the Soviet Bloc, and why there has been no WWIII as yet. The theme of the book is that the nations are sprouting, and are reaching out to receive the Gospel, and we will shortly see the greatest outpouring of mercy that the world has ever seen, and after this will come the judgment. It demonstrates that God is very interested in healing the nations, as spoken of in the very last chapter of the Bible.

Ray’s latest book, just out in February of 2006, entitled “GOT FAITH?” addresses relevant contemporary questions commonly posed about the Christian Faith. These questions were compiled mostly from young people of college and some high school age, in camps and conferences in the past few years. Ray’s insightful answers and provocative style make this book challenging, while at the same time being an “easy read”. Young and old will find this book a great help in establishing their faith, and encouraging the faith of others. The book will be available in late 2005, through Evergreen Press.

Emil Silvestru

Dr. Emil Silvestru was born in a small Transylvanian town in 1954. By the time he was twelve his fascination with the natural caves and other such land features around his region had begun. He received his Master’s degree after five years of study, during which he had already begun to publish papers on karstology, from the state university of Cluj (Transylvania’s Capital). Dr. Silvestru spent the next seven years of his life studying geologic features, including the geology of different kinds of ore bodies. He began working at the Emil Racovitza Speleological Institute in 1986, just three years before the 1989 revolution against the communist government [1]. Dr. Silvestu received his Ph.D. in geology at the ‘Babes-Bolyai’ University in Cluj in karst sedimentology [2].

Dr. Silvestru was the head scientist at the world’s first Speleological Institute until 1997, when he became a researcher and speaker with Creation Ministries International. He has to date co-authored one book, written and published 30 scientific papers, and is considered a “world authority” on the geology of caves [3].

Dr. Silvestru turned to Christianity after numerous miraculous escapes from grave danger. He began regularly attending the services held by the church that his wife, Flory, attended. After he became a Christian he knew he would have to rethink the way some aspects of geology supposed “millions of years.” At first he tried to maintain a belief in the “Gap-Theory” of old earth creation science, but to his mind, it was an unsatisfactory way to explain the history of geologic formations. After many e-mail conversations with other creation geologists he came to believe in young earth creationism, that is to say, a literal interpretation of the bible [4].

Frank Sherwin

Frank Sherwin is a staff scientist, speaker, and prolific author for the Institute for Creation Research in San Diego. He was born and raised in a non-Christian home, and received Christ while in Vietnam in 1971. After his discharge from the Navy, he earned a B.A. in Biology from Western State College in Colorado and became an EMT/firefighter in northern Colorado. He later earned an M.A. in Zoology from the University of Northern Colorado, specialized in parasitology, during which time he discovered a new species of parasite.

Before joining the ICR staff, Frank taught human physiology & anatomy, medical microbiology, parasitology, general biology, and cell biology for nine years at Pensacola Christian College. Sherwin’s current goals are to continue to publish creation science articles, books and research. His current projects include authoring the ‘origins’ and ‘plant science’ sections of a college-level biology text written from a creation science perspective.

Frank Sherwin is the winner of the 2004 San Diego Christian Writers Guild Award for Excellence in Educational Writing for his book, The Ocean Book. In addition to The Ocean Book, Sherwin has published his scientific research in the Journal of Parasitology and has written numerous monthly articles for the Institute for Creation Research. He has co-authored creation science articles and several books including, Evolution Shot Full of Holes and The Human Body: An Intelligent Design.

He is also a member of the American Society of Parasitologists and the Helminthological Society of Washington.

Esther Su

Dr. Esther Fai-Wan Su received her B.A. in Chemistry from Hope College, Michigan, and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

While a college stu­dent, Dr Su struggled over the creation vs. evolution issue. "I there­fore set up for myself basic ques­tions to answer in order to prove scientifi­cally whether or not the Earth and uni­verse were created, and then to determine if the Bible was true. I discovered that science was very limited because scientists can only study the present. Science requires observa­tion, but you can’t observe the past. So, the question of whether or not the universe was created is a historical ques­tion, not a scientific one. The question should be whether or not the evidence we observe today supports creation or evolution."[1]

To resolve the issue of whether the Bible or evolution was true, Dr Su conducted an intensive study of paleontology. She felt that: "If evolution is true, then there must be all kinds of in-between forms of creatures." She discovered that the fossil record, as well as observations of living things, supports the Creation account. Then she looked at biochemistry, her field of expertise, and saw tremen­dous complexity in living that provided evidence of intelligent design. "The design of life is something that cannot be explained without a Creator. Even a so-called “simple” cell is so very complicated."[2]

Now Ester Su serves the Lord in creation education ministry and has been invited all over the world to conduct seminars and workshops, especially in the areas of "Bible and Science", and "Creation/Evolution", et. al.

Giuseppe Sermonti

Dr. Giuseppe Sermonti is a retired Professor of Genetics at the University of Perugia. He discovered genetic recombination in antibiotic-producing Penicillium and Streptomyces and was Vice President at XIV International Congress of Genetics (Moscow, 1980). Sermonti is Chief Editor of Rivista di Biologia/Biology Forum, one of the oldest still-published biology journals in the world.

Barry Setterfield

Barry Setterfield was born in Australia and educated at the University of Adelaide. Mr. Setterfield is an active researcher who has been investigating the speed of light since 1979. His first major paper was published by Flinders University in 1987, co-authored by Trevor Norman, and written at the request of a senior physicist at Stanford Research Institute International.

Research has continued in the fields of physics, geology, and astronomy, with papers published in the Journal of Theoretics. He and his wife are currently living in southern Oregon, where he is Director of the New Hope Observatory.

John Whitcomb

Dr. John C. Whitcomb served in World War II. After the war he received a BA with honors in ancient and European history from Princeton University. He earned a BD, ThM and ThD from Grace Theological Seminary, where he taught from 1951 to 1990 in the seminary's Old Testament and Christian Theology departments. He is an enthralling speaker and a well-known author.

Dr. Whitcomb’s most famous work, The Genesis Flood (co-authored in 1961 with the late Dr. Henry Morris), is widely acknowledged by creationists and evolutionist alike. It has had significance in igniting the modern creationist movement around the world.

Monty White

Dr. A J Monty White is the CE (Chief Executive) of the Creationist organization known as Answers in Genesis (AiG) in the UK. He had previously worked as a senior aministartor at the University of Wales in Cardiff for about 28 years. White was an undergrad at University College of Wales, in Aberystwyth in 1964 and became a convert from atheism to Christianity that same year. (click here if you wish to read his testimony). He graduated from the University of Wales, where he achieved a BSc in chemistry (1964) and a PhD for what he did in researching the field of Gas Kinetics (1970). Before White left to Cardiff he had spent two years discovering the elctrical and optical properties of organic semi-conductors. While in Cardiff, he joined the administration of the college there, adn took jobs as Director of the International Office and Academic Registrar. Besides doing all this, he also became a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.[1]

Monty is a well known Creationist. He has created many publications including pamphlets, articles in magazines, and even books. They all discuss a variety of topics, but most pertain to the subjects of science, creation and evolution, and the Bible. There are so many people around the world that desire to read his writings that many of them have been printed in different languages such as French, Portuguese, Swedish, German, and Dutch. He speaks and gives seminars in many different places in Europe including England, Wales, and various other countries on the mainland. He even lectured in Hong Kong at one time. In 1983 to 2001 he even went and spoke at Staatsunbhangige Theologische Hochschule, Basel in Switzerland. When in Britain, he has been on television programs an appeared in interviews on both local and national radio. Dr. White is married to his wife Irene, and has three adult children.[2]

Beliefs

Dr. White is a firm believer in Christianity and creation. He knows that Jesus is the one true Son of God and that He died on the cross so that everyone would have the opporunity to go to 0912_sport. He believes that the earth is about 6,000 years old, and created by a supreme intelligent being. "People believe in evolution because they choose to do so," says White. "There is not a shred of real evidence for the evolution of life on earth." Mr. White ultimately has faith that creation is true, but also backs it up with scientific evidence. "Evolution is not compatible with Christianity," he states. "Genesis tells us that death only came into the world because of Adam's sin. There was no death before then, and you can't have evolution without death."[4]
