Реч је о моменту када сви напуштају Исуса, и он вели: Тужна је душа моја до смрти. Tristis est anima mea usque ad mortem. Oil on canvas, 15.74 "x 11.87" (40cm x 30cm). Matthew 26:38: Tristis est anima mea usque ad mortem. Περίλυπός ἐστιν ἡ ψυχή μου ἕως θανάτου. My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Or, My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Jesus' clothing is part of my old mantle (robe) which I wore during the visit of Pope John Paul II (I sent you that photo), and he has blessed me to paint. It is made of Cannabaceae. The moon is made of special cardboard. Over it is pasted a real oak leaf. Some allusions and texts that can be read with this picture: 1) Dark Night (John of the Cross). The Cloud of Unknowing is a theme that is not in the foreground of this picture. I insisted on the abandonment of God and of the people. On being misunderstood. On Gospel which is a story about unrequited love. St. Silouan the Athonite After 15 years of ascetic struggles and spiritual efforts, St. Silouan received another important insight from God: It was fifteen years after the Lord had appeared to him, and Silouan was engaged in one of these nocturnal struggles with devils which so tormented him. No matter how he tried, he could not pray with a pure mind. At last he rose from his stool, intending to bow down and worship, when he saw a gigantic devil standing in front of the ikon, waiting to be worshipped. Meanwhile, the cell filled with other evil spirits, Father Silouan sat down again, and with bowed head and aching heart he prayed, 'Lord, Thou seest that I desire to pray to Thee with a pure mind but the devils will not let me. Instruct me, what must I do to stop them hindering me?' And in his soul he heard, 'The proud always suffer from devils.' 'Lord,' said Silouan, 'teach me what I must do that my soul may become humble.' Once more, his heart heard God's answer, 'Keep thy mind in hell, and despair not.' In an interview, the Archimandrite Sophrony Sacharov, of blessed memory, at that time a younger monk, was asked by a visiting priest: “Fr. Sophrony, how will we be saved?” Fr. Sophrony prepared him a cup of tea, gave it to him, and told him, “Stand on the edge of the abyss of despair and when you feel that it is beyond your strength, break off and have a cup of tea.” Obviously this was a very odd answer, and the young priest was definitely confused. So off he went to St. Silouan the Athonite, who lived not far from there, and told him everything, asking for advice. Long story short, next day, St. Silouan came to the cell of Fr. Sophrony and the two started a conversation about salvation. The beautiful fruit of their conversation was an unforgettable phrase that I would like to also offer as the answer to our conversation today about depression: “Keep your mind in hell and despair not.” 2) Oak Plato, Phaedrus Socrates: [275b] They used to say, my friend, that the words of the oak in the holy place of Zeus at Dodona were the first prophetic utterances. The people of that time, not being so wise as you young folks, were content in their simplicity to hear an oak [275c] or a rock, provided only it spoke the truth; but to you, perhaps, it makes a difference who the speaker is and where he comes from, for you do not consider only whether his words are true or not. John 1:11: He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. John 12:38-41: This is exactly what Isaiah the prophet had predicted: "Lord, who has believed our message? To whom has the Lord revealed his powerful arm?" But the people couldn't believe, for as Isaiah also said, "The Lord has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts - so that their eyes cannot see, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me and have me heal them". Isaiah was referring to Jesus when he said this, because he saw the future and spoke of the Messiah's glory. The beginning and the end of the universe are necessarily linked, procreation has a beginning in time, but his scope is in the eschaton, so that everything grows upside down. The death of Jesus, at the same time, is the resurrection: Genesis 18:1.8: The Lord appeared again to Abraham near the oak grove belonging to Mamre. He then brought some curds and milk and the calf that had been prepared, and set these before them. While they ate, he stood near them under a tree. The Oak of Mamre. Origen: But let us see what this three represents, under which Abraham stood and provided a meal for the Lord and the angels. “Under the tree of Mamre” the text says. Mamre in our language is translated “vision” or “sharpness of sight”. Do you see what kind of place it is where the Lord can have a meal? Abraham’s vision and sharpness of sight pleased the Lord. For he was pure in heart so that he cold see God. In such a place, therefore, and in such a heart the Lord can have a meal with his angels. In fact, earlier prophets were called seers. Homilies on Genesis 4.3. Idols and gods are buried beneath the oak, ritually killed. Genesis 35:2-4: So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Get rid of the foreign gods you have with you, and purify yourselves and change your clothes. Then come, let us go up to Bethel, where I will build an altar to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and who has been with me wherever I have gone.” So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods they had and the rings in their ears, and Jacob buried them under the oak at Shechem. Genesis 35:8: Now Deborah, Rebekah’s nurse, died and was buried under the oak outside Bethel. So it was named Allon Bakuth (which means "oak of weeping"). The Oak pronounced the first word of prophecy, the first appearance of the Trinity and the meal was under him, his shadow protects people, there is raised a tent, there are buried gods and men, there is a crying, there is a resurrection. Са Павлом Раком у Љубљани на једном гостовању. У позадини је и слика коју је урадио мој млађи син Спале, када сам био на неком путовању, а њега је привукла ова моја па је и он хтео да је нацрта. 3) Everything he did, Logos who took our nature, relates to us. He speaks to us. Everything is because of us (pro nobis). He lives in us. Therefore, a piece of my clothing is on him. As it was his. Jute fiber is 100% bio-degradable and recyclable, it is a natural fiber with golden and silky shine and hence called The Golden Fiber. At the same time, the King is corruptible and incorruptible. 4) The moon is rich in symbolic significations. To me here it is the birth of life, full and needs to give birth. In the later Catholic theology it becomes a symbol of the Virgin Mary. As we have the Virgin of the Oak. But, Moon each month marks a time of new beginnings, so that in the end of times become bloody. Revelation 6:12: I watched as the Lamb broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake. The sun became as dark as black cloth, and the moon became as red as blood. Apart of all these indications, for me it was the most important moment of real Gods’ abandonment. Jesus not acted agony, and He is not entered as a hero who knew in advance that He will win because he is God. He went into the fight as any mortal man, like any of us, and his Father had not response to comfort him. Resurrected him from the dead by the Holy Spirit. We hope that all of us then raised together with him. God Bless you!
