Београђани преко "Кикстартера" сакупљају новац за анимирани филм о Тесли

Београдски студио "Рингишпил" је представио трејлер за анимирани филм о Николи Тесли "Тесла и девојчица са лампом" који покушава да оствари путем суфинансирања на популарном сајту "Кикстартер".

"Тесла и девојчица са лампом" је осмоминутни анимирани филм за децу и одрасле и не представља екранизовану биографију, већ надреалну причу инспирисану животом и радом нашег највећег научника.

 

"Теслин сан о Светском бежичном систему је срушен и он на ивици банкрота мора да прихвати тривијалан посао - постављање осветљења у излогу музичке продавнице. Након што мала девојчица угледа великог научника при његовом раду, сан постаје стварност", гласи званично саопштење у опису пројекта на "Кикстартеру".

 

 

Креативни тим окупљен око аутора Бранислава Бркића већ две године ради на пројекту, а од 6.500 долара колико је потребно за завршетак филма је за сада уплаћено 1.200 долара.

На линку кажу да је скупљено 6.500 УСД а да им треба још да направе дужу верзију од 8 минута.

У сваком случају, ово је нешто што би требало министарство културе да подржи и финансијски и да испрати кроз медије.

THE STORY

The dream of the World Wireless System is crushed. On the verge of bankruptcy, Tesla accepts a trivial job - setting the electric light in the window display of a musical instrument store. When a little lamplight girl sees great wizard in window display, the dream becomes reality…

 

ABOUT THE FILM

Tesla & the Lamplighter is an animated short film (~ 8 min) for children and adults. Even though it is based on a real event, this is not a biopic. It is an enchanted, surreal story about regaining faith in your dreams. 

We wanted to somehow evoke the strong experience of scientific discovery which Tesla himself had considered impossible to describe, and what medium could be better for that then animation. So, we took a basic concept - electric vibrations and  replaced it with musical vibrations. Inventor’s measuring instrument has become a musical instrument, and the invention itself a melody … We found a different way to show Tesla's story.

For the past two years that this film has been in the making, this original story has been the thing our team believes in.

The visual style of the film is not photo-realistic. We are reaching for the surreal and  romantic atmosphere from old postcards images.

WHY ARE WE MAKING THIS MOVIE

Our main goal is to raise interest in Tesla's work and life.

Nikola Tesla was one of the smartest people in history. You can find his discoveries in your lights, computer, TV, radio, cell phone, hair dryer, washing machine, vacuum cleaner, car… even in the satellite that transmit this message to you... but still he is unknown to many people. He dedicated his life to the well-being of humanity, trying to make life on earth better for all and always emphasized the importance of environmental protection ... more than a century ago.

So, the more people, especially the young, find inspiration in Tesla's work the better it will be for all of us.

This year we could see how one artist raised a lot of interest for Tesla; when comic artist Oatmeal helped to raise money for buying the land on Long Island for the first American Tesla museum. You can check his delightful illustrated story "Why Tesla was the greatest geek who ever live". 

There are a lot of things still required to actually build the Museum. As our film is closely related to the old Tesla's Long Island laboratory,  we'll give our best to promote the importance of this Museum. 

 

 

Our second goal is to show the movie on as many festivals as we can and after that to make the great number of  theatrical and TV screenings.

 

WHERE WE ARE NOW

We have been making this movie for almost two years now. In an animated film, the pre-production period is extremely long. Once the production starts, the whole film already exists in the form we call 3D animatic. Then we start animating. So far, we have completed the animation and post-production for almost half of the film.

Why we need YOU?

In order for the film to get the final cinematic look we need to render all the scenes in a render farm. Render farms are made of powerful computers rented by the hour. The longer a film spends in a render farm, the better it looks! Apart from that, it is necessary to cover the cost of professional sound and the rest of the animation. These are minimal costs we can cover with 6500$ (8-10% of which will go to cover the expenses of kickstarter and money transaction). It's not much, but it will help as to finish the movie. With a larger sum, we could raise the production level and apply it for a greater number of festivals.

 

WHO WE ARE

We are an independent team of dedicated and passionate animated film makers. We have gathered together as Tesla’s fans with the aim to produce an animated film on a highest level of production, which would raise an interest in Tesla’s work.

Our production is distributed between our office in Brooklyn, NY and our studio in Belgrade, Serbia near the world’s largest Tesla Museum.
