Мајкл Бехе је професор биологије на Лихај универзитету у Пенсилванији, САД. Докторат из биохемије одбранио је на Пенсилванија универзитету 1978, а постдокторат на Националним институтима за здравље 1982. године. Професор Бехе је објавио многе радове из области биохемије. Његов истраживачки рад о структури ДНК тренутно финансирају амерички Национални институти за здравље.

Др Бехе сматра да најубедљивији докази за постојање разумног деловања у стварању света не треба да се траже мећу звездама или фосилима, већ у биохемијским системима. У овој својој књизи, својеврсном приручнику из биохемије, Бехе користи примере као што су вид, згрушавање крви и кретање ћелија, да би показао постојање запањујућег низа хемијских машина, сачињених од прецизно калибрисаних и мећузависних делова. In his book Darwin's Black Box (The Free Press, 1996), biochemist Michael Behe claims that many biological systems are "irreducibly complex", that in order to evolve, multiple systems would have to arise simultaneously. He claims that such systems exist in biology and that the existence of "irreducible complexity" argues for an intelligent designer. Behe describes in detail several biochemial systems and alludes to others, claiming that they are "irreducibly complex."

Most science books for popular audiences focus on the frontiers of knowledge: what do we know, what does it suggest, and where is it likely to take us. In contrast, I would characterize Behe's book as an exposition of the Frontiers of Ignorance: what do we not know, and how can we blind ourselves with that lack of knowledge.

Indeed, that is the whole thesis of Behe's book. A system is labeled "irreducibly complex" if he cannot postulate a workable simpler form for the system. There is no way to prove such a claim. All we can do is look at the facts and logic presented, and judge whether it makes sense. Whether the logic is correct is another matter entirely. Indeed, this series of postings is intended to illuminate specific examples of where such reasoning is wrong. And it is often wrong because Behe has failed to present the full picture; we are not shown crucial facts which point out the failings in the logic.

Behe starts with the example of a mousetrap; he claims that a standard mousetrap is "irreducibly complex". Such a mousetrap consists of (p.42):

(1) a flat wooden platform to act as a base

(2) a metal hammer, which does the actual job of crushing the little mouse

(3) a spring with extended ends to press against the platform and the hammer when the trap is charged

(4) a sensitive catch that releases when slight pressure is applied

(5) a metal bar that connects to the catch and holds the hammer back when the trap is charged (there are also assorted staples to hold the system together)

Мајкл Дентон се бави истраживачким радом у области молекуларне генетике човека на новозеландском Отаго универзитету. Образовање је стекао на универзитету у Лондону (Краљев колеџ), где је и докторирао 1974. године. Објавио је мноштво радова у научним часописима.

„Шире амбиције теорије еволуције да објасни односе међу класама и редовима живих бића  (да не говорим о објашњењу настанка живота), изгледа да су, најблаже речено, засноване на климавим темељима. Не само да палеонтологија није успела да пронађе „карике које недостају“, а које је Дарвин најавио, већ и хипотетичке реконструкције главних еволуционих  периода развоја (нпр. оне које  повезују птице са рептилима) све више почињу да, уместо на озбиљна научна објашњења, личе на фантазију. Чак и тренутно популарна теорија „периодичне уравнотежености“ („punctuated equilibrium“ - дуги периоди буквалног мировања, обележени епизодама наглог развоја нових форми), не може адекватно да попуни празнине које се појављују када покушамо да замислимо како су настале главне групе биљака и животиња.

Најзначајнија од свега су савремена открића молекуларних биолога која не само да не потврђују Дарвинове тврдње, већ стварају све веђу сумњу у традиционални дарвинизам. На основном нивоу молекуларне структуре сваки члан класе има све карактеристике класе којој припада, тако да се ни за једну врсту не може рећи да представља прелазну врсту између две класе.“

У својој новој књизи Биологија: човекова перспектива, Дентон продубљује своје разилажење  са дарвинистичким тезама. „Хипотеза да је свет створен разумним деловањем, која далеко од тога да је застарела и мрачњачка доктрина (како на њу гледају из неких кругова), у савршеном је складу са научним чињеницама.“

Анализирајући широки распон научних доказа, и на молекуларном и на органском нивоу, Дентон показује да је дарвинистичка поставка, по којој је све производ случајности, „дубока заблуда“.

Michael John Denton (born 25 August 1943) is a British-Australian author and biochemist. In 1973, Denton received his PhD in Biochemistry from King's College London.

Denton wrote Evolution: A Theory in Crisis (1985), which was instrumental in starting the Intelligent Design movement, and Nature's Destiny (1998).

Denton was an influential proponent of Intelligent Design and is a former Senior Fellow of the Discovery Institute's Center for Science and Culture, hub of the Intelligent Design movement.

Denton's views have changed over the years. His second book Nature's Destiny argues for a law-like evolutionary unfolding of life and therefore assumes evolution as a given.He no longer openly associates with Discovery, and the Institute no longer lists him as a fellow.

Many people continue to associate Denton with the Intelligent Design movement because his early work is cited in movement literature, for example Evolution: A Theory in Crisis is cited in the appendix of the controversial creationist intelligent design textbook, Of Pandas and People.

Одлична књига. Иако наслов не оставља претерани утисак, књигу дефинитивно треба прочитати. Аутор је иначе потпуно непознат широј јавности што не значи да је неозбиљан, напротив! Једино је `слаба карика` последња глава која се аматерски бави теологијом, остало стварно препоручујем.

Иначе, књига је врло јефтина, има око 460 страна и писана је питко и потковано у исто време.

Duane T. Gish has a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of California, Berkley. He is the Senior Vice-President Emeritus of the Institute for Creation Research, and frequently travels abroad to give seminars and lectures on creation science. Dr. Gish is arguably the foremost debater of creation science in the world.

He spent a total of 18 years in biochemical research; with Cornell University Medical College (NYC), with the Virus Laboratory, U of Cal-Berkley and and on the research staff of the Upjohn Pharmaceutical Company (Michigan). Dr. Gish has also published approximately 40 articles in scientific journals.
